Emirates Transport inks $84m contracts in Q1

DUBAI, May 28, 2017

Emirates Transport, the country's leading public transport provider, said it has signed Dh307 million ($84 million) contracts in the first quarter covering the key construction and the energy sectors.

A total of 40 new and renewed contracts were signed with government and private sector entities, said the company in a statement.

On the record growth, Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, the general manager, said: "The corporation achieved remarkable results in the first quarter through the growth of revenues and the enhancement of the market share in the main sectors of transport and leasing, school transport, auto services and logistics."

Al Jamran pointed out that the total value of the new contracts surged to Dh148 million ($40.2 million), while renewed contracts for the same period rose to Dh159 million ($44 million).

The areas of growth and expansion for the first quarter included transport, government, logistics, construction, tourism and the oil and gas sectors, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
