Summit to focus on building sustainable cities in Mena

RIYADH, June 13, 2017

Leading building and construction experts will discuss ways to boost sustainable green energy, urban design, and sustainable buildings at the seventh edition of the International EnviroCities Conference and Exhibition to be held in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, this November.

During the event, EnviroCities will offer participants an opportunity to share ideas on sustainable environmental technologies, and review best global practices and solutions, in an effort to ensure the sustainable development of cities in the Arab world.

The event will be held in co-operation with the Environmental Centre for Arab Towns (ECAT) and Dubai Municipality, with the support of the Arab Towns Organisation, and the Royal Commission for Yanbu.

On the event, Hussain Al Fardan, the head of ECAT at Dubai Municipality, said: "Around 60 per cent of the researchers taking part in the conference have been recruited, and that the main themes will include sustainable green energy, renewable energy, sustainable urban design, and sustainable buildings."

"The event will bring together a wide range of decision makers, specialists and stakeholders, at the local, regional and global level, in addition to community associations, to consider a broader and more comprehensive approach to sustainable innovation as a means of mitigating the impacts of climate change at city levels," noted Al Fardan.

"The conference aims to find long-term solutions and strategies to ensure the social, economic and environmental development of our Arab cities," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
