SSH starts work on Bahrain waterfront project

MANAMA, November 12, 2017

SSH, a leading masterplanning, building design, construction supervision and project management firm in the region, said it has started construction supervision for top Bahrain real estate group Naseej’s development CanalView in Dilmunia, a health and wellness island development off the northeastern coast of Muharraq in kingdom.

This comes following the successful execution of lead design consultancy services by SSH, said a statement from the company.

CanalView is a mixed-use residential and retail project comprising four elegant residential towers with a two-level retail and F&B (food and beverages) podium, being developed over a 13,068-sq-m area.

The luxurious property is within walking distance of Dilmunia Mall, and is close to Bahrain’s main arterial roads, social infrastructure and Bahrain International Airport.

Piling has now started on the project after a ground-breaking ceremony held late October which was attended by key officials from Naseej and SSH, among other strategic partners, said the statement.

According to SSH, the fundamental design approach is to create an urban environment that takes full advantage of the development’s prime waterfront location within Dilmunia Island.

The CanalView development offers canal-side living at its finest. The residences are set in beautifully landscaped gardens next to a sweeping canal-side promenade. Residents can also enjoy the benefits of an exclusive private club, incorporating a range of sporting and entertainment facilities.

The spectacular 1.6-km canal, with dual pedestrian access, provides ideal spaces for retail and F&B amenities. CanalView residents will have access to a breathtaking public park via the canal footbridge next to the property. Other iconic installations include the waterfall footpath and fountain system.

The two-storey, stone-clad podium provides residents and visitors with a double-level public promenade and provides an attractive architectural solution to the gradient difference across the site.

The recessed terrace level design also reduces the overall mass of the podium and creates a sense of human scale to the development, said the statement.

Andrew Barwick, the resident director at SSH, said: "As lead design consultant on CanalView, we are now excited to be taking this exceptional mixed-use development through its construction phase."

"Our appointment as construction supervision consultant on this project demonstrates our commitment to Naseej as a client, but also gives us the opportunity to ensure the construction meets the developer’s expectations through successful timely and quality completion," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
