DUBAI, 13 days ago

The organisers of Middle East Energy (MEE), the Middle East and Africa’s largest and most comprehensive energy event, have announced the cancellation of the event in that was earlier rescheduled to start today (April 17) in Dubai.

"Today, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel Middle East Energy 2024 in its entirety. We will be making an official statement later today. Visitors, exhibitors and contractors should not make their way to the venue at this time," a notification on the event's website said.

The event was scheduled to start on April 16, but was put off by a day due to the unprecedented rains in Dubai.

"Safety is our priority and we have made the decision that is in the best interest of all of our valued Middle East Energy customers, partners and attendees," said the organisers while announcing the postponement.

Held under the auspices of the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the event was expected to span 14 halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and occupy 28,500 sq m.

Over 1,500 local and regional exhibitors and 14 national pavilions from China, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Pakistan, Romania, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United Kingdom were expected to take part in the event. - TradeArabia News Service
