Dubai jewellery show set for Nov 15 opening

DUBAI, November 14, 2017

VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show, the region’s biggest fine jewellery and gem extravaganza, is set to opens the doors to its inaugural edition tomorrow (November 15) at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Incorporating the emirate’s two leading jewellery sector showcases – the trade-centric Vicenzaoro Dubai and the consumer-friendly Dubai International Jewellery Week – into a single, industry-wide mega event, more than 500 Dubai, regional and international brands from every corner of the globe will be on site with brand new product lines, collections, special bespoke pieces in gold and diamond, and new innovations in packing and technology.

The perfect stomping ground for all key players in the international gem and jewellery industry including wholesalers, manufacturers, traders, retailers and end consumers, the 2017 show will be presenting a wide programme of new and exciting features and events while serving as a stage for cutting-edge companies to present the very latest and most exclusive collections to an international audience.

The event format for VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show will be divided into four, easily identifiable communities: Global Brands that are celebrated at an international level for their experience in setting trends in high fashion; Fine Jewellery for those artisans who are experts in the trade of jewellery of the finest quality; Gemstones & Diamonds dedicated to businesses selling certified precious stones; and Packaging & Supply, which will feature experts in packaging and visual merchandising, together with businesses specialsing in machinery, technologies and the development of new solutions for jewellery production.

In terms of exhibitors, confirmed brands from the UAE include Dhamani, Salem Al Sheibi, Amwaj, Renee Jewellers, Itan, Jawhara, KGK, MKS, Malabar Gold and Diamond and Mahallati, while Hazoorilal and Sonsfrom India, Jewels from Hong Kong, Garavelli and Hasbani from Italy and Innova from Turkey will also be looking to put stars in the eyes of Dubai’s most well-heeled community.

A key highlight for VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show is the daily fashion shows and trend presentations, which aim to put a shine on the catwalk by displaying the most jaw-dropping pieces from local and international exhibitors.

The opening day Gold-themed fashion show ‘Extreme Sophistication’ will be sure to impress, with diamonds the theme of day two’s catwalk ‘The Master’s Archive’. Day three will celebrate coloured gemstones with a show entitled ‘Fauvist Fantasy’ , while the final day November 18 aims to foster young and local talent by creating career opportunities for regional designers at the Jawhara Heritage Awards.

Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting– the independent think tank behind the Trendvision 2019+ coffee table book that uncovers key trends for upcoming seasons by monitoring historical and social changes and analysing emerging trends and phenomena - also plays a key role in this year’s event.

This season, VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show is teaming up with Arab Fashion Week, uniting the best of fashion and jewellery all under one roof. The exhibitions have partnered up to host a series of seminars and presentations at each other’s venues.

Corrado Facco, managing director of Italian Exhibition Group and vice chairman of DV Global Link, said: “VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show is a unique and innovative event that has been conceived to meet the needs of the all key members of the dynamic jewellery and gem industry. Be it uncovering new innovations, sharing best practices, developing new partnerships or learning about the latest trends in the luxury sector, the new consolidated format opens many doors for us to numerous global countries, some of which we have never done business with before, proving instrumental in further driving the success of the global jewellery industry.

“Thanks to the skills of our top international exhibition providers, IEG and DWTC, as well as the collaboration of our partners, we have built an incredible platform where the most prestigious players in the business can come together to interact and do business.”

The show concludes on November 18. – TradeArabia News Service
