Dubai Culture launches latest edition of ArtMap

DUBAI, November 19, 2017

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority has launched the latest edition of ArtMap, which provides a comprehensive artistic and cultural guide to major events and exhibitions taking place across the UAE for the rest of the year.

The guide is published biannually in collaboration with ArtintheCity, and also includes detailed schedules and listings, useful at-a-glance maps, and editorial content from expert members of the local arts community.

Moza Suwaidan, director of Projects & Events at Dubai Culture, said: “The latest edition of ArtMap ushers in the culturally rich autumn/winter season in the UAE, which heralds a new kind of energy with a fresh wave of seasonal openings and flagship art and design events like Dubai Design Week and Dubai Film Festival. By supporting ArtMap and making it available to as wide an audience as possible, we at Dubai Culture are furthering our mandate to position Dubai as a global and regional cultural capital, while also enriching people’s lives to achieve the Dubai Plan 2021 vision for a city of happy, creative and empowered people who proudly celebrate their cultural identities.”

Upcoming November events include Dubai Design Week, which will see Dubai Design District (d3) activated with an array of initiatives including Downtown Design and the next editions of Abwab and the Global Grad Show, providing platforms for commercial, non-commercial and educational offerings. November will also see the launch of Abu Dhabi Art, the ‘Hassan Sharif: I Am The Single Work Artist’ exhibition from Sharjah Art Foundation, Arch. Season 2017, and the highly anticipated inauguration of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which will open its doors to the public on 11th November.

December will feature the 14th edition of the Dubai Film Festival, which will roll out the red carpet for celebrities, movie stars and film world giants, marking a grand closing event to yet another exciting year of art, culture and entertainment in the UAE.

As well as providing details on all of these events, the latest edition of ArtMap also sheds light on Dubai’s thriving cultural scene via insightful interviews. As a special feature, SVENM – the team behind the Architectural Biennale – has collaborated with ArtMap and WTD Magazine to work on a ‘Dubai Architectural Stories’ booklet that is included in this edition of ArtMap.

To spread the joy of art and culture throughout the community, ArtMap is made widely available to the public at galleries and art spaces, museum and government institutions, community spaces and art/design fairs, heritage sites, and select schools, universities, hotels, cafés and restaurants. Copies will also be distributed at upcoming events including Dubai Design Week and Abu Dhabi Art to ensure that participants can make the most of all that is on offer. – TradeArabia News Service
