Dubai medical tourism to increase by 25pc

DUBAI, November 5, 2017

Medical tourism, which is growing exponentially each year with more patients choosing to travel overseas for cosmetic and specialised care, is expected to increase by 25 per cent in Dubai by 20200, a medical professional revealed.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 13th International Consensus Meeting ICAGE on Advanced gynecological minimal- access surgery, Dr. Rajesh Devassy, Dubai London Clinic Group, said: " We’re expecting to see medical tourism to Dubai increase drastically and this congress serves as a platform to boost the number of medical tourists to the UAE emirate."

"The congress is very integral to increase industry awareness about the Advanced gynecological minimal-access surgery procedure. Globally, only 10 per cent registered professionals have mediated and undertaken such a procedure, and with its success rate, we are aiming to increase its implementation in a safe manner across the region." he said.

The 13th International forum and congress marked a pivotal point in the region’s medical competency.

In the light of her achievements in the medical world, Dr. Muna AbdulRazzaq Tahlak was awarded recognition at the congress by Prof.Dr.Rudy Leon De Wilde, president of the European Society of gynecological endoscopy (ESGE) and Bharat Ratteshwar, executive director - Dubai London Clinic Group. - TradeArabia News Service
